Steven D. Levitt is the co-author of the bestseller Freakonomics and its follow-up Superfreakonomics, a New York Times bestseller.

Professor Levitt is a tenured professor in the University of Chicago's economics department and is the recipient of the American Economic Association's prestigious John Bates Clark Medal - given to the country's best economist under 40. In 2006, he was named one of TIME magazine's "100 People Who Shape Our World."
